5th Annual ASPS Surgical Conference: September 8 & 9, 2017

Save the date for the 5th Annual ASPS Surgical Conference being held September 8 - 9, 2017. The conference will be held at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor and once again feature comprehensive surgical education with both didactic and hands-on surgical workshops. Conference topics include Charcot Foot Reconstruction, External Fixation, Heel Surgery, Hallux Rigidus, and Flatfoot Reconstruction. Are You Coding Your First Ray Procedures Correctly?

In a continuing effort to provide enriching surgical education the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons is proud to announce the ASPS Surgical Webinar Series. The webinar series will kick-off with Dr. Jeffrey D. Lehrman presenting "Are You Coding Your First Ray Procedures Correctly?". This free webinar is available to ASPS members and will be held March 30, 2017 at 8:00 PM EDT. Dr. Jeffrey D. Lehrman is a member of the ASPS Board of Directors and the APMA Coding Committee. He will cover proper coding for 1st Ray procedures and discuss coding for bunionectomies, in addition to implant and fusion procedures. This webinar will also include the new and revised 1st Ray CPT codes. Time will be allowed for Q&A!

2017 ASPS Board of Directors Election Results

ASPS is pleased to welcome Dr. Alec Hochstein to the ASPS Board of Directors. Dr. Hochstein is a Fellow member and has been in practice since 2000 in Great Neck, New York. He is also the founding developer of iPodiatrist iOS app. ASPS welcomes back Dr. Ashleigh Korves with her re-election to the board. Dr. Korves is an Associate member who has served on the ASPS Board of Directors since 2016. She practices in Annapolis and Clarksville, MD and also serves on the board for the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association

ASPS Lecture Track at AAPPM Mid-Winter Conference

ASPS is excited to work with AAPPM at their 2017 Mid-Winter conference by hosting a track on Practice Management in a Surgical Practice. This track is focused on effective practice management as it relates specifically to the surgical practice. Basic success relies on setting expectations, ensuring the best possible outcome, and following up effectively. Superior practices also rely on surgical patients spreading the word! ASPS' lecture track is being held Thursday, February 23rd from 1:30 - 5:30 PM. Lecturers include ASPS members Drs. Patrick DeHeer, Eliezer Eisenberger, Jeffrey Lehrman, and Ryan McMillen.
